salt water damage (?)
« en: Abril 19, 2018, 09:41:18 am »
Hi,

Anybody have any input on a paraglider exposed to salt water? Yes, I took a swim. Embarassed Seems some manufacturers just say to rinse it thoroughly in fresh water (which I've done, and I know I have to restretch the lines) while others say to replace all the lines as salt crystals will weaken them? Jérôme's tips say the lines may have to be replaced. Is this real, speculation, or just CYA on the part of the manufacturers? Has anybody heard of pg lines failing due to salt water exposure? Or could it be that (I presume) the most common path to salt exposure may be after an over-water acro class which may have already overstressed the wing?

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
